She did it!

Tatum has officially christened her new potty....
with you guessed it- the picture says it all!

We tried potty time after her nap and to my amazement after a few books there was a little "deposit"! I still beam when I tell everyone about it! She was really proud of herself, and got to flush and say goodbye to the goods (although I'm quite sure she didn't really know what I was so excited about!).

Jason & I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary on the weekend of January 17th with a day of skiing in nearby Crescent, IA and continued the evening with a Pub Crawl around town with some of my work friends. Grandma & Grandpa Zubrod (Nana & Papa) came to visit.

Time out for Tatum

For this one you'll have to use your imagination folks.

Monday night after her bath, Tatum is hugging daddy and bites him on the shoulder. I witness this and decide that it is time to let her know we mean business. Is this really it? Tatum has never been in time out. We really hadn't discussed where the special spot would be. On-the-fly, I decide that the nearest corner will do. She just kind of sat there with a look like "what just happened?". Surprisingly she doesn't cry or get up. We were shocked at how she seemed to kind of "get it".

Wednesday, I pick her up from daycare. The report isn't good. Tatum has been picking on a little boy about 12 months old. I press for details.... was she not sharing... teasing him? Tickling him? She pushed him down. Three times! So 3 times that day she ended up in time out. This was also the first time that she had been put in time out at daycare. (I'm pretty sure she was put there with love. I'm pretty sure Tatum is her favorite and is pretty spoiled!). So without either of us knowing that the other had initiated this ritual, Tatum was introduced to this rite of passage this week.

Welcome to starting to be held accountable for your actions sweetie. We'll always love you know matter what!

The most wonderful time of the year...

Christmas 2008 was the best!
We enjoyed a full 4 days with family and a few of our friends too.
Tatum was spoiled by relatives, and friends...Near and Far!
We really do miss Grandpa, Grandma & Great-Grandma in Florida
and Great Grandma & Aunt Lisa in Arizona. We hope to be seeing them very soon!

This doll is really thirsty!
Last night, Tatum carried this baby's
diaper bag all around the house,
while pushing her in a stroller.
She let us know that she and her doll
were ready to go, saying
"Bye!!!!"

Happy Birthday to YOU!

About a week ago, Tatum started singing something that sounded like the Happy Birthday song... Jason and I both looked at each other as if to say.... was that what we thought it was??? Here is just a snapshot of her vocal stylings!

Just CHILLIN in O-town

EVERYTHING is a hat!

We were out of town for 4 weekends in a row, so now we're CHILLIN in Omaha!
Tatum is LOVING the Christmas lights.

Tatum is really talking up a storm. She learns quickly.
This week she was sporting both a bib and socks with a Hawkeye on them.
I said look Tatum- Hawkeye here and on your socks! Later that day, after her nap she was wearing the bib again and said "Hawk!" That a girl!
She sees a car and says "beep beep" but LOVES to see trucks to which she changes her tune to "HONK HONK!"
She hums along to "twinkle twinkle little star", has to pick out her own bib,
and shows us when she is ready to go "Bye, bye!" by grabbing her purse, shoes and coat!
Can you say miss independant?
The only concerning thing is that Daddy seems to suddenly be
Tatum's favorite. She gives kisses and hugs frequently without request-
so I guess she is forgiven!

Playing in my hamper could be my full time job!

I do a great job of putting all the clothes back in too!

You will be looking fabulous like me

in no time daddy!

A "stinky" Halloween

The little Stinker had a long day... It's hard work being a SKUNK! First we visited Tatum's daycare to hand out treats. We continued the giving at a local assisted living center. After a brief hibernation, we enjoyed a sugar buzz courtesy of juice, fruit snacks, and a sucker. Tatum did a great job of saying "Thank You" after trick-or-treating at several houses on our street. We returned to hand out candy, but Tatum didn't really feel like sharing the Reeses candy... Here she practices counting the items that she thinks she should keep for herself...

November 2nd was a beautiful day in Omaha...

one more chance to bust out the shorts and crocs!

Tatum monopolizes the neighbor's new ATV.
Hope your Halloween was SPOOKY!
