My future's so bright...

One last splash in our pool... Enjoying 80 degrees at the end of September in O-town!

The Bouncing Tot!!!

Tatum's newest words are "car" (used appropriately for any real life vehicle, cars on TV, cars on pajamas, or her toy car). She loves to flop onto large pillows or fluffy blankets. She can also be seen rocking in her high chair, our patio chairs (see video) or a rocking chair (we have the adult and the child version).

She may be a narcissist...

In the past few days Tatum has been obsessed with looking at pictures of our family on the walls, especially pictures of herself-

Happy Halloween to all!

Two clues on Tatum's costume... it is striped and stinky...

Uh oh!

Tatum's new words are "Uh Oh!" and she has started to sign "help" too! She loves to brush her teeth, and loves to pull little crabapples off of our tree! She is also enjoying various fall and Halloween decorations everywhere we go. She likes to color with her kiddo crayons (thanks aunt Jillie!). On Friday Tatum was able to invade a preschool clasroom at mommy's work. She had fun playing with the pretend dryer, cash register, microwave, stove, and sink. She also discovered the best thing ever- a baby carseat carrier... which she quickly discovered was much lighter WITHOUT the baby! Of course I had to stop at Toys R Us to check out the pricing of the carriers and was pleasantly surprised when there was a $5 off sale for this weekend only.... so Tatum has a new baby!

Late Summer....into early Fall

Tatum has been a busy girl! She enjoys being outside often. Her new routine is chasing a ball down the hill (on the sidewalk and not the street of course). She will kick it if it stops along the way, squealing all the while! She is also obsessed with trying to drink from various containers, from straws, and cups of all different sizes. She enjoys helping mom with the dishes, stiring foods (lasagna & cookies this weekend) and putting on makeup! She has transitioned to needing only one nap per day, and her favorite foods are peaches and lasagna!

Fall is here....

Applejacks Festival in Nebraska City
I picked them and can eat them all by myself!!
I also tried Apple Pie A-la-Mode (I ate all of the ice cream!)
and an apple cider slushie! Mmmm...
I have an amazing tolerance for cold foods & drinks,
never complaining of an ice cream headache!

Notice the wet booty after sitting in spilled bubbles!

Our slide on a cold pre-fall day in O-town

One last summertime watermelon feast....

Dancing Queen

Where did she learn to dance like this? Some kind of preschool videotape at her daycare? I don't think I dance like that. Regardless, Tatum can really shake it and she is absolutely adorable doing so. Hope you enjoy the peek at her ability to get down!

My favorite things...

Our little princess, daredevil, cuddlebug, catch-me-if-you-can!!! That look- You found me and I'm not doing anything wrong! Just drinking my milk mommy! Tatum has changed so much in the past month- she knows what she wants and expects you to also know. She points, vocalizes and wants to see, touch and show you everything! She wants to taste anything on our plates during meals- surely what we are eating must taste better than the exact same thing on her tray! Her favorite routine words are "adada" for daddy, "mama" for mommy, "Ka!" for cat, & "Ba!" for balloon. Music is one of my favorite things! I have enjoyed choosing songs, like to clap, sing and sometimes even really get into it (imagine a toddler doing squats with her booty almost touching the floor!)- video footage to come!

Another favorite- My baby dolls!!!! I rock, I cuddle, I give kisses! I love to get right in there and help with DISHES!!! Is it clean mom? I'm a MONKEY... I love to crawl into my rocking chair and mommy's big rocking chair and rock... I'm in, I'm out, I'm up, I'm down... I'm crawling upstairs before I've even played with all of my big toys downstairs! Bye for now.../>

She made it- 1 year old!!

First off- many appologies. The silly stilles have been on a blogging & myspace vacation! Too many things to enjoy in the summer fun! I've been trying to work out at night every once in a while so something had to give...

Before I go into the amazing wonder that is our daughter, let me just say that I count my blessings each day. To have a happy, healthy family and to know that we have so many others out there that truly care about us...from afar.

Warning: this blog is backwards. Seriously. I thought I could choose where to insert pictures after the text, but it isn't exactly going as planned! New additions keep going to the top. Ugh! Thanks for your patience!!

Too-cute-for-words: Tatum loves to hug boys, preferred age range- 2-3 years old. Yes, she likes the older men. This is no tender hugging (this is reserved for her brand-new baby dolls). We are talking a -get over here, I'm in charge and I want a hug type of deal. First time I witnessed this was while shopping at Gymboree... this cute little african-american boy was sitting in a chair in front of some cartoons and Tatum pretty much attacked him. He wasn't blindsided though, he had plenty of warning (via flirting) ahead of time. Most recently, she went after Loeck, a little cutie at her birthday party. I have photo documentation for this one folks (again to come).

he has a CRAZY affinity for water. I've tried to take her to the sprinkler park, let her play in a small pool in our yard or at the very least hook up the sprinkler and let her at it at least once a week. She has been trying to blow bubbles in the bathtub for over a month, and I doubt she remembers me showing her this when we had our "shrimp" mommy & me classes this past winter. She's such a natural, that when presented with the opportunity to take her to the Olympic Swimming Trials here in Omaha- I couldn't think of a better way to show her a "BIG POOL". The tix were free, and we could only stay for an hour, but right now I see the water as her calling. I'll update this blog later with oodles of pictures of her in the water. Speaking of water...

We just had a heck of a party to celebrate her 1st Birthday- with what other than a "Water Party" theme with fish, seaweed and starfish decor... again, insert oodles of pics here. Her first words may be mama or dada, but right behind this was "baba" for bath- which she of course cannot get enough of! Just after her birthday she began pointing excitedly at a balloon saying "ba-oooon!". I couldn't quite catch this on video, but believe me I tried. That had to be the cutest thing ever!!

Tatum has had a great summer.

The silly stilles visited family and friends over Memorial Day. It began sadly with a funeral but ended beautifully with our dear friend J-Fag giving birth to a beautiful daughter- Charlie. Tatum tries to learn how to drive a John Deere....

The latest and greatest in cognitive development skills: Tatum now points at what she wants and vocalizes. It all started as an exclamation-"look at that puppy!", "wow-look at that!". It has now progressed to a thought-out request. She fully expects to get it too... demanding for a 1 year old! "I want that piece of pizza on your plate". Now we just need to work on please and thank-you-if even with sign language.

More gushing about our little tot (AKA: Tater Tot, sugar bean) to come.

XOXO to all of you!
